Springfield Basement Fire Knocked Down By Crews

Springfield Fire Department called to Dawes Street last night right before 8.

Fire Department Spokesman Dennis Leger tells us the basement fire was knocked down in about a half hour and caused five thousand dollars worth of damage.

Officials say the fire was caused by improper disposal of smoking materials.
