Jailed Man Accused Of Threatening Federal Prosecutor

A Holyoke man is being charged with threatening to murder a federal law enforcement officer for performing his official duties.

The U.S. Justice Department says Carlos Maldonado was charged last week in federal court in Worcester.

Court documents reveal the threats were made against Todd Newhouse, an assistant U.S. Attorney who handled a case against Maldonado.

He is currently serving a 42-month federal prison sentence for drug distribution.

The prosecutor hasn't commented.
