Investigators Search For Cause In Cabot Street Fire

Firefighters battled a blaze at a vacant apartment building in Holyoke on Sunday.

First responders found heavy fire in the back area of the building on Cabot Street at around 1 p.m. Holyoke fire officials say the building is known to have homeless squatters, but that there weren't any reports of people in or around it when this happened.

Cabot Street was shut down for several hours after the fire broke out.

The State Fire Marshal is assisting in the investigation.
