Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno is speaking out again against perceived leniency in the court system following a fatal shooting.
Sarno released a statement on Thursday asking what it takes to keep dangerous, repeat violent offenders off the streets.
The statement notes that when Edwin Hernandez was arrested for the murder of Isaiah Ramos this week, it marked the third time Hernandez was picked up on gun charges within a year.
Sarno is again calling for the state legislature to pass bail reform legislation.
Lawmakers have been considering the measure for some time and have yet to get the measure out of committee.
