Diocese And Alleged Victim Have Face To Face Meeting

Springfield Catholic Bishop Mitchell Rozanski is taking action after meeting with a man who claims he was sexually abused by the late Bishop Christopher Weldon.

Rozanski filed an initial report with the Hampden District Attorney's office on Thursday.

The alleged victim said he was abused decades ago by Weldon and two priests.

The man testified before a review board for the diocese last year, but the testimony regarding Weldon was disputed, while the accusations against the two priests, who have also since passed away, were deemed credible.

The Diocese says that the meeting was productive but will not have any further comment.

The DA's office has not commented yet either.
