Lesser Says Supreme Court Decision Was Wrong On Unions

Longmeadow State Senator Eric Lesser says a bill passed last week by the Massachusetts Legislature defending public unions repairs some of the damage done by a 2018 U.S. Supreme Court decision.

The high court ruled that public sector employees could not be compelled to pay union fees even though they benefit from contracts negotiated by unions.

The Massachusetts bill allows public unions to seek reimbursement from non-members for services like representation at grievance proceedings.

Lesser says the Supreme Court ruling was a bad one for working residents.
