Longmeadow Declares State Of Emergency After Micro Burst

The National Weather Service says a "wet microburst", not a tornado, caused some damage in Longmeadow on Saturday.

About sixty trees were knocked down in the downtown area, along and just east of Route 5, with several trees going down on houses, according to the weather service.

The town is making a debris disposal site available at the Wolf Swamp Field Parking Lot.

The lot is being monitored and to be used only for storm related purposes.

Everyone should have power, although Eversource officials said overnight they have cut the power to areas where there are still downed power lines.
