Report: Truck Driver In Deadly Crash Drugged, Distracted

The Massachusetts man accused of causing a crash that killed seven motorcyclists in New Hampshire allegedly was drugged at the time.

Volodymyr Zhukovskyy of West Springfield is charged with seven counts of negligent homicide in last month's crash.

A Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration report says Zhukovskyy was under the influence of an unnamed drug when the crash happened.

It also says he was reaching to the passenger compartment of the truck for a drink when he lost control of the vehicle.

State Senator Eric Lesser, who is the Vice Chairman of the Legislature's Joint Transportation Committee says that the new information is disturbing and a further cause for action.
