Two people are dead after a vehicle being chased by police in Enfield crossed into Massachusetts and slammed into a postal truck.
The crash happened on Route Five in Longmeadow, around two miles across the border from Enfield.
Police in that town say they were pursuing a driver who appeared intoxicated when the person took off.
The victims are identified as David Cersosimo of Rocky Hill and postal worker Daniel Nacin of Enfield.
Nacin was 59 and a 40 year employee with USPS. He was filling in for another mail carrier.
Police have indicated that Cersosimo was being pursued by police and may have been doing so for four miles.
The Hampden County DA is investigating along with Connecticut State Police, Enfield and Longmeadow Police.
Route 5 reopened last night.
