Elms College’s Hall of Fame Weekend

HDSA’s Massachusetts Chapter will be taking part in Elms College’s Hall of Fame Weekend on Saturday, October 12th.

The Elms College Blazers will be part of the HDSA Charity of the Game Program. The HDSA Charity of the Game Program partners with collegiate athletics departments to support HDSA’s mission to improve the lives of those with Huntington’s disease and their families.

Throughout the day, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) of Elms College will be holding 50/50 raffles at all five home games and donations will go towards HDSA. The HDSA Charity of the Game Program is a great and exciting new opportunity for colleges to be a part of as we need Huntington’s disease (HD) awareness to be mentioned more in the news with the HD Parity Act being re-introduced to Congress. This bill is a game changer for the HD Community as this will allow HD patients not to wait two years for Medicare benefits as they can receive it once they qualify for disability. In Massachusetts, the HD population is more than 5,000.

For the Elms College Hall of Fame weekend, Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will be running 50/50 raffles during the Women’s Volleyball, Women’s Soccer, Women’s Field Hockey, and Men’s Soccer games. All donations go towards HDSA
