A deputy sheriff that is part of the FBI-led Western Mass Gang Task Force is on internal duty after reportedly firing a gunshot at a suspect in Springfield.
A spokesperson for the Hampden District Attorney's Office says this happened Tuesday morning during an attempted search of the narcotics suspect's home and car in Indian Orchard.
The D.A.'s office says during interaction between police and occupants of a truck in which the suspect attempted to flee, the driver rammed multiple law enforcement vehicles.
No injuries were reported when one task force member then fired on the vehicle. No arrests have been made yet.
