A 32-year-old Springfield man is facing murder and other charges for the alleged shooting death of his father.
Police responded to Grochmal Avenue in the city's Indian Orchard neighborhood around 7:30 last night.
The 62-year-old victim was found on the porch and he later died.
Police say they recovered a gun which they found next to the suspect, identified as Brian Nay.
It was the 19th murder of the year in Springfield.
