Springfield City Councilor Adam Gomez is announcing another state Senate run.
Gomez, who shared posts about the campaign on social media on Monday, will challenge incumbent James Welch for the Hampden District seat, which includes Springfield, West Springfield and Chicopee.
Gomez previously did so in 2018. Both Welch, who was first elected to serve the district in 2010, and Gomez, who has served on the Springfield Council since 2015, are Democrats.
