In Springfield, they have been debating the issue for years.
Now it looks like the city is ready to ink a contract with a company, as early as tomorrow that will outfit all 511 Springfield Police officers with body cameras.
It is anticipated that the contract will be worth in the neighborhood of two and a half million dollars.
The roll out would be over time.
But Commissioner Cheryl Clapprood says it will benefit officers and the public in finding out what happened and how a specific incident happened.
