A legislative aide for state Representative Aaron Vega is hoping to succeed him.
The Holyoke state rep Vega is not seeking re-election to a fifth term.
Following his announcement, Patricia Duffy said last night she'll run for the 5th Hampden District seat, having filed preliminary paperwork earlier yesterday. Vega says he is supportive of Duffy's run.
She says job development and housing will be among her top issues.
Although she made a formal announcement on her quest last night---an official party announcement is expected sometime next month.
