The Springfield Police Department says an attempted murder suspect was re-captured yesterday in Chicopee.
Shacolby Merriman's history includes being held for a murder in Springfield in 2014 before a state Supreme Court ruling resulted in the murder charge being dropped.
Merriman allegedly shot at his pregnant girlfriend in an attempt to kill her last November, and was recently arrested by U.S. Marshals in New Jersey.
According to the Springfield Police Department, some sort of error led to him being released, and he returned to Massachusetts on his own.
