In Springfield Next Month--Body Cams For Cops

The Springfield City Council on Monday approved one-point-seven-million dollars in spending for police body cameras.

The money is for the purchase of the cameras and related equipment.

Officials say the plan is to implement the program starting next month.

Springfield City Councilor Orlando, the chairman of the Public Safety Committee says that the cameras will insure the safety of the public and the officer as well.
