Commissioner: PPEs Being Provided To Springfield Police

Coronavirus updates in Springfield: the city's police officers are now going to wear personal protective equipment to help protect against virus exposure.

Springfield Police Commissioner Cheryl Clapprood says there are several coronavirus cases in the community and that she wants to keep officers healthy and for everything possible to be done to prevent the spread of the virus.

COVID-19 has also resulted in the city's Department of Public Works changing its rules on picking up mattresses and box springs.

The DPW says they must all be placed in plastic mattress bags, which can be purchased at a number of retailers.
