MassMutual Donates Vital Masks To City

Springfield Mayor Dom Sarno blasted MEMA and State officials for not providing enough N95 masks for police, fire and EMS.

Later in the day MassMutual donated additional masks to the city.  These much needed and vital PPE’s will be put into immediate use by our first responders and front line personnel.

Mayor Sarno earlier today held a press conference imploring federal and state officials and agencies to appropriately and fairly secure and distribute these PPE’s Stating that during this public health emergency, states and cities should not be competing and bidding against each other for limited supplies.

Mayor Sarno stated, “Once again, MassMutual has stepped up and has come through for our Springfield. After hearing my plea for help in securing these lifesaving N95 and KN95 masks for our brave and dedicated first responders. MassMutual immediately contacted my office and said they could be there within the hour to donate additional masks. I cannot thank Roger Crandall and everyone at MassMutual enough for their continued support of our Springfield. They truly are a devoted and compassionate corporate citizen who are with us in this fight against the coronavirus.”

It is unclear how many masks were donated or how long they will last.
