West Springfield Leaders Seek Option For "Right Of Passage" For Students

In West Springfield, parents, administrators, students and other officials are trying to come up with a plan to allow kids to have some “right of passage” and graduate in a Covid19 environment.

Parents say that it is important to keep traditions alive. Students would like to have the same passage that their parents had.

Meantime, West Springfield Mayor Will Reichelt says that starting Monday a survey will go out to parents and students trying to figure out what they would like to have and when they would like to have it.

Mayor Reichelt says that he is working with The Big E on several dates into the summer that will allow students to graduate like so many others have had in the past. But he says that there is nothing official yet.

The Mayor says that there will be several options listed for recipients of the survey but that if none of the options are liked by parents then they can offer up an additional option and it will be under consideration.

The survey is expected out on Monday,
