Hospitals Say They Are Taking Hit In Virus Funding

Massachusetts hospitals are dealing with a financial crisis because of coronavirus.

State hospitals are losing well over one-billion-dollars a month in revenue, largely from cancellation of elective procedures and non-virus related activity.

Health care providers across the state have furloughed thousands of workers, and deeper cuts could be coming to the industry in the near future.

State hospitals are receiving a combined one-billion-dollars in aid from the federal stimulus package approved last month.
