Boston Top Cop Condemns Death Of George Floyd

Boston Police Commissioner William Gross is condemning the killing of George Floyd by police in Minneapolis. Gross says he supports the decision of the Minneapolis police chief to fire the four officers who were involved with Monday's death.

The commissioner says Floyd's death is a shame, and sends his sympathy and condolences to the victim's family.

Gross says that there is nothing in any police manual that would allow an officer to place a knee on the neck of a suspect in order to subdue them.

A peaceful protest of Floyd's death happened last night near the Ashmont MBTA station in Boston.
