Charges Filed Against Man In Fatal Brimfield Crash

A man is being charged for a fatal crash in Brimfield on June 7th.

The Hampden District Attorney's Office says Michael Frank of Holland faces charges including motor vehicle homicide for the crash which killed Donald Magoon and seriously injured his daughter, both also from Holland (pictured above).

Frank was reportedly driving a minivan and allegedly crossed into oncoming traffic on East Brimfield-Holland Road and struck a motorcycle driven by Magoon head-on.

The initial crash investigation appears to show the minivan, operated by Michael Frank, had crossed into the oncoming lane and struck the motorcycle head-on, then crashing into a telephone pole. Both occupants of the motorcycle were thrown from the motorcycle.

On Monday June 15, 2020, an arrest warrant was issued for Michael Frank out of Palmer District Court. He has been charged with Motor Vehicle Homicide resulting from Negligent or Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Marked Lanes Violation.

Michael Frank was arraigned this afternoon in Palmer District Court. His bail was set at $10,000 with a condition not to operate a motor vehicle if released. His next court date is scheduled for August 13, 2020.
