Eastern equine encephalitis has been detected in a batch of mosquitoes in Massachusetts for the first time this year.
The state health department says it came out of Orange last Wednesday.
Officials are urging people to use bug spray. Last year, triple-E killed six people in the state.
Right now state officials say that the long term threat for Triple E is Low or Moderate throughout all of western Mass.
