Hampshire College is offering "sanctuary" for international students who may be forced to leave the U.S. because of a new federal rule.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement's directive this week would take away student visas if they are enrolled at online classes.
Hampshire College president Ed Wingenbach says the college has the capacity to safely add students in the fall, so it can offer the sanctuary for at least some students who might have to leave the country otherwise.
The ICE guidance is now the subject of a lawsuit filed by Harvard University and MIT.
