Tropical Storm Leaves Miles Of Destruction

Over 220-thousand Massachusetts utility customers lost power from Tropical Storm Isaias.

Massachusetts largely dealt with strong winds from the storm yesterday, and the power outages are widely scattered around the state.

Several towns in central Massachusetts saw significant damage from falling trees, causing tens of thousands of power outages.

Utility companies say it could take days to restore all of the scattered outages.

It appears that a lot of the damage reported happened between Enfield and the Greater Springfield area. 7 thousand customers of Eversource without power in Springfield overnight. the same number in Enfield.

Longmeadow and East Longmeadow both reported 5 thousand customers without power in each community. About 7 thousand customers left in the dark in Agawam. Chicopee was also a hard hit area. Crews worked through the night to get as many people back on line but even with the extra help from Canadian crews it may take days to bring service back to some communities.
