Pandemic Scares Away Halloween In Springfield

No ghosts or goblins this Halloween for one western Mass community.

The Springfield Mayor Dom Sarno says it is unfortunate, but the pandemic will alter the way Trick or Treating is done in the state’s third largest city this year. No door to door Trick or Treating. The Mayor says social distancing would be difficult.

There is also a list of “Not Recommended” events. Like those where you go car to car instead of door to door.

The Mayor says he will allow drive through events and displays.

Sarno says Springfield was highlighted by the Governor this week for its positive trends and he would like to keep it that way.
