Coronavirus Death Toll In Western Massachusetts: 1,043

Two new coronavirus deaths were reported in Hampden County on Wednesday.

The Western Massachusetts coronavirus death toll is now one-thousand-43.

There were 42 new cases reported in Western Mass yesterday for a new pandemic total of ten-thousand-662.

Springfield has been placed in the "red zone" of a weekly-updated color-coordinated coronavirus risk map from the state;

Springfield is the only red community in Western Mass at this time.

Green Communities as listed by the Public Health Department, Agawam, West Springfield, Chicopee and Westfield.

The state considers Red Communities-- those with cases of 8 or more per 100 thousand population.
