The American Hockey League is moving the start date of the 2020-2021 season to February 5th.
The league, headquartered in Springfield, is citing the ongoing COVID-19 public health crisis.
The National Hockey League, for which the AHL is the top minor league, earlier this month said it was targeting January 1st as the start date for its upcoming season.
