Frustrated Governor Needs More Vaccine To Beat Coronavirus

Coronavirus vaccinations of first responders in Massachusetts are scheduled to begin next week.

State officials say firefighters, police officers and emergency medical technicians will start receiving the vaccine next Monday.

There are around 45 thousand first responders in the state who will be eligible to receive the vaccine next week.

Governor Charlie Baker says the state has shipped 287 thousand doses to medical providers, and 116 thousand doses have been administered.

But the Governor also told reporters the state is prepared to do what needs to do to get all residents vaccinated. But the fed has been slow to provide the vaccines in the numbers they need.

The Governor says he is hopeful that will change soon.
