No Football Playoffs For High School Football In Shortened Season

The Management Committee of the MIAA, which governs high school sports in Massachusetts has voted to cancel the playoffs for the Fall2 football season. The football season was postponed because of the pandemic.

The Committee voted unanimously to cancel the playoff structure across the state.

Officials say they will move forward on a postponed regular season which will allow for some closure for seniors to end their high school football careers.

According to the latest plan, officials say they anticipate starting the season around February 22nd and playing for about a month.

A final vote is expected in early February.
