Curfew Over But Businesses Still Concerned For The Future

The 9:30 p.m. curfew on restaurants and other businesses in Massachusetts is being lifted today.

Governor Charlie Baker announced last week that the curfew imposed in November would end as of today because of improved coronavirus trends.

The 25 percent capacity limit on restaurants and many other businesses will remain in place for at least two more weeks.

Baker says fewer hospitalizations for the virus and dropping statewide positive test rates led to the decision to end the curfew.

Many business owners say they are concerned that spikes in cases may bring back restrictions,.

Meantime, MGM Springfield announced overnight that the casino would go back to 24 hour operation beginning Friday, however capacity limits will remain in effect.
