Pandemic Relief Package Means Money For Many---Including Cities And Towns

President Biden is urging the Senate to quickly approve his massive pandemic relief bill. Speaking from the White House yesterday, Biden said the House "took the first step" in making it a reality by passing the bill early Saturday. The one-point-nine-trillion-dollar pandemic relief measure cleared the House mostly along party lines with a 219-to-212 vote. The bill now goes to the Senate, where Biden said he hopes it will receive quick action.

The bill, in its present form means 14 hundred dollar checks for a lot of Americans but additionally some big time relief for local cities and towns.

In Agawam, 2 point 8 million dollars. In Chicopee, 30 million. Holyoke 32 million dollars and in Springfield a whopping 98 million dollars.

Senate Republicans are expected to balk at the package as presented but insiders say it will pass.
