A Worcester Police officer is dead after trying to save a person from drowning.
A visibly shaken Worcester Police Chief Steven Sargent says several officers including Emmanuel Familia responded yesterday when three teens were struggling to stay afloat in a Worcester pond. Officer Familia and a 14-year old boy disppeared under the water.
Their bodies were later found and recovered from the pond at Green Hill Park.
Flags are at half staff in Worcester in honor of the fallen officer.
