Springfield Council To Vote On Illegal Dirt Bike Issue

Springfield City Councilor Orlando Ramos, he is also a state rep from Springfield says a city council committee, then the full city council will vote on a measure that would greatly restrict the sale of gas to those with off road vehicles.

Those vehicles and dirt bikes are illegal in Springfield.

The bikers making life miserable for motorists weaving in and out of traffic and even for pedestrians trying to cross a street.

Gas stations who violate the ban could be fined between 100 and three hundred dollars.

The Mayor says it would be another level of protection for residents.

Gas station owners say it would be impossible to legislate and regulate.

They say the dirt bikers will simply buy gas elsewhere.

Ramos says it is a matter of public health and safety.
