Heat Wave To Bring Dangerous Temperatures To The Region

The week will get underway with some extreme heat in Massachusetts and Connecticut.

The National Weather Service has issued heat advisories for most of the state through Wednesday.

Residents are encouraged to avoid the hottest parts of the day, drink plenty of water and take advantage of air conditioning.

Cooling Centers are open in Springfield at the Clodo Conception Senior Center and the South End Community Center.

Splash Pads are open as well. And Springfield Mayor Dom Sarno says that the Forest Park Pool will open on July first.

In West Springfield, they are having issues with finding lifeguards. So only the Corson Pool on Main Street is open in that city.
