Happy Fourth Of July As Springfield Gets Ready For Big Fireworks Show

Massachusetts Environmental Police, including the Connecticut River Task Force, will be on patrol this weekend enforcing the state's law on boating and drinking. It's part of a national crackdown called Operation Dry Water. 

Usually during a holiday weekend there's an increase in boating under the influence incidents.

Meantime, in Springfield they are getting ready for the annual Fireworks Display on the Connecticut River. As crews are setting up for the Sunday Show - the Memorial Bridge, the staging point will be closed until midnight Monday morning.

State Police are also ask you to be safe no matter where you are. And, that includes a reminder that they will be also on the look out for illegal fireworks displays.

Fireworks although legal in Connecticut --are not in Massachusetts.
