Nurse Gets Prison Time For Diluting Medicine Of Hospice Patient

A nurse who worked in Westfield is being sentenced for tampering with a patient's liquid morphine supply.

The Justice Department says Danielle Works of Stafford Springs, Connecticut was sentenced on Wednesday to twenty months in federal prison.

Prosecutors say Works diluted the morphine from a patient who was in their final hours of life at the Governor's Center nursing facility in 2018, and then put lives at risk by working under the influence of the narcotic.
