Cable TV Deal Agreed To For Springfield Residents

Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno is announcing an agreement with Comcast to renew its non-exclusive cable TV franchise license.

Sarno says the ten-year extension includes several significant negotiated items.

Comcast will continue to operate a customer service center in the city and run public access channels.

The mayor says they will also lower the eligibility age for a senior discount to 62.

The non-exclusive deal means that the city could entertain a second cable company in the future.
