Gas prices keep going the direction drivers want to see. Triple-A reports the national average price for regular is down two cents, to four-28 a gallon. That's the lowest price in more than a week, but prices are still over five bucks a gallon out West. The statewide average is five-02 a gallon in Nevada, five-12 a gallon in Hawaii, and five-78 in California.
Breaking down the numbers -- Hampden County has an average gallon at $4.21 a gallon. Hampshire County at $4.22 a gallon. Franklin County $4.21 a gallon.
Connecticut reports an average price of $4.39 a gallon.
The White House has suggested that as the price of crude oil on the international market declines so will gas prices. The White House is urging retailers to drop prices to consumers and soon as their prices drop.
