State Investigates Kids With Hepatitis

The state is investigating two cases of hepatitis in children in Massachusetts that are from unknown origin.

More than 100 cases of pediatric hepatitis have been detected across the country in recent months.

These are the first cases in Massachusetts, and both children have tested negative for adenovirus, which can lead to liver failure and death.

State officials do not safe exactly where the cases came from.

Federal officials issued a nationwide health alert about the pediatric hepatitis issue last month.
