The Springfield Thunderbirds have just a couple of days to get ready for the Eastern Conference FInals in the American Hockey League.
It is the semi-final round of The Calder Cup.
The T-Birds will play Laval Rockets beginning this weekend at the Mass Mutual Center.
The Thunderbirds earned the right by beating the Charlotte Checkers 5-1 Saturday night. They won the series 3 games to none.
The series opens in Springfield this Saturday at 7:35pm and continues Sunday afternoon at 5:05pm.
The series will move to Laval for the next three June 8th, 10th and 11th (if necessary).
Laval announced overnight that all three games are sell outs in their building.
If a sixth or seventh game is necessary it would be in Springfield on June 13th and 15th.
Both teams are on hot streaks. Springfield has won six in a row. Laval has won four in a row.
Springfield is 4-0 when scoring the first goal of a game.
Laval is 2-1.
