Bishop Prevents Worcester Catholic School From Saying They Are Catholic

Diocese of Worcester Bishop Robert McManus says a private school can no longer identify itself as Catholic.

For several months McManus has been asking the independent Nativity School of Worcester to stop flying Black Lives Matter and Pride flags.

He says the flags promote lifestyles that contradict the teachings of the Catholic Church.

School officials say the flags will continue to fly and that the bishop's decision will be appealed through appropriate church channels.

A spokesman for the Bishop says that he is not concerned about the message, however he is concerned with the use of controversial flags in order to make their point.

Those who graduated from the Nativity School say they are disgusted by the actions of the Diocese.
