Former Springfield state representative and civil rights activist Benjamin Swan is receiving another honor from the city.
A section of Wilbraham Road in the Mason Square neighborhood was renamed Ben Swan Way on Saturday.
The sign is close to Swan's former district office.
The 89-year-old attended the official ceremony.
The Springfield School Committee voted to rename Homer Street Elementary School for Swan late last year.
