The Springfield Police Department says a man who had been riding a dirt bike that was involved in a crash then attempted to disarm an officer on Monday night.
The suspect was identified as Vicente Solano of Springfield.
The SPD says there was a two-vehicle accident at around 6:30 in the area of Bay Street and Girard Avenue.
While Solano was being apprehended, he allegedly grabbed the officer's gun before he became outnumbered.
No word from the arraignment session yet.
