After a successful Canadian visit, the Springfield Thunderbirds are ready for a return to action with its first three games in less than three-day weekend.
Tonight, the Thunderbirds will have a rematch of their opening night encounter with the Bridgeport Islanders.
The Thunderbirds return to action Saturday night against arch-rival the Providence Bruins and then will turn right around and be ready to play Providence again in their house at The AMP, the Amica Mutual Pavilion.
Springfield enters the weekend with a record of 2 and 3, while the Islanders have started strong this young American Hockey League season with a record of 4 and 1. The Bruins have also started fairly strong with a record of 3-1-1.
Springfield is looking for its first points at home after losing to Bridgeport and Providence the first weekend of the season.
