Thunderbirds Stick To Plan- Ready For Friday Battle In Rochester

The Springfield Thunderbirds have just one game this weekend. They will be in Rochester for a Friday night tilt against the Rochester Americans and with it that are looking to make some history.

For the first time in team history, the Thunderbirds are looking for nine wins in a row.

They have vaulted to the middle of the AHL’s Atlantic Division- sitting in fourth place. They have 51 points; three points behind Charlote in the division and 12 points behind both first place Hershey and Providence which are tied for first place.

Springfield in its last ten games are eight and two.

Rochester meantime is also in fourth place. They are in the Northern Division, 17 points behind the first place Tornto Marlies.

There is no history between the two teams this season, as this is the first time they will play.

Matthew Highmore continues to lead the team in scoring with 44 points.

The Thunderbirds will have the week off after the Friday game in Rochester. After that they will take to the ice again on Friday night February 17 in Providence for a critical matchup against the Providence Bruins. Then they will be in Bridgeport February 18 and then return to Providence to play the Bruins again on February 19.

The next home game for the Thunderbirds won’t be until Wednesday February 22 against the Hartford Wolfpack.

Good seats for all Springfield Thunderbirds games are still available at the Mass Mutual Center.
