Baystate, Shields Health Announce Urgent Care Closures

Three urgent care centers are closing in Western Massachusetts by the end of March.

The centers shutting down in Longmeadow, Agawam and Westfield are jointly owned by Baystate Health and Shields Health.

“The difficult but necessary decision to close these jointly-owned urgent care centers is reflective of the fact that like most of our health care colleagues across the nation, we are struggling with staff shortages and these urgent care sites are no exception,” said Dr. Mark A. Keroack, MPH, president and CEO of Baystate Health.

Dr. Mark Keroack says the staffing issues are not just in western Mass or the state- it is a nationwide issue.
