Pinney Found Guilty To Manslaighter In 2014 Death Of Woman

A Springfield man has been found guilty of manslaughter by a Hampden County jury after a second murder trial.

Frederick Pinney was charged with fatally strangling TayClair Moore inside his home on Agnes Street in 2014.

A mistrial was declared two years later, and Pinney was eventually released for COVID-related reasons and remained out on bail, drawing protests from Moore's family.

The District Attorney Anthony Gulluni says he is respectful of the jury's work and its decision, but would have felt better with a conviction on a murder rather than the lesser charge of manslaughter.

Pinney is expected to be sentenced on Friday.
