Powerful Nor'easter Aims At Western Mass, Northern Connecticut

A powerful nor'easter could dump up to a foot of wet, heavy snow over parts of Massachusetts tonight and tomorrow.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for the Boston area from 8 o'clock tonight until Wednesday morning.

The city of Springfield is expected to receive between four and six inches of snow during the storm, with wind gusts of more than 50 miles per hour possible.

The weather service warns that travel could be especially difficult statewide tomorrow afternoon, and could cause power outages as well.

As you go into the Berkshires, the snow could come down much harder. In some places they could get up to two feet of snow.

In northern parts of Hampshire and Franklin county it may be between 6 and 12 inches.

Now the people in the weather center say specific areas could see more or less snow depending upon the specific path of the storm.
